This site shows some of the application areas of the VORPAL framework, developed at Tech-X Corpooration.

Electromagnetic cavities

Visualizations of electromagnetic cavities modeled with VORPAL. In these strcutures, a particle bunch interacts with the electromagnetic field in the cavities. Click on the thumgnails for high-res images. For more visualizations of cavities, see Cavity Gallary 1, Cavity Gallary 2 and Cavity Gallary 3

.

Laser Wakefield Acceleration

Visualizations of laser wakefield acceleration. A strong laser pulse in an underdense plasma generates a plasma wave that can accelerate a bunch of electrons to high energies. Click on the thumbnails for high-res images. For more visualizations of laser wakefield accelerations, see LWFA Gallary 1 and LWFA Gallary 2

Electron-Cyclotron Resonance Ion Source (ECRIS)

. Electron and ion density distribution in an ECRIS:

Magnetic bottle:

Laser-Droplet Interaction

Visualizations of a strong laser pulse hitting a water droplet.

Interdigital Sensor (Fringe Field Sensor)

Visualizations the electric field distribution in an interdigital sensor.

Laser-Overdense Interaction

Visualizations of a strong laser pulse hitting an overdense target.

Misc. Simulations
